Dear IFATSEA Members and Delegates,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the IFATSEA Euro-Conference 2026, organised by IFATSEA Region Europe in close cooperation with the Bosnia & Herzegovina ATSEP Association, and hosted in the beautiful and historic city of Sarajevo.

It is an opportunity to celebrate our shared commitment to aviation safety, technical excellence, and strong international cooperation. Sarajevo, with its rich cultural heritage and growing aviation sector, offers a fitting backdrop for reflection, dialogue, and forward-looking discussions.

This year’s conference theme is “Preparing ATM for Tomorrow: ATSEP Skills, Systems, and Safety in Transition.”

As Air Traffic Safety Electronics Professionals continue to evolve at a rapid pace, we are faced with new challenges and opportunities. Our greatest strength lies in our collective expertise, innovation, and the professionalism that defines the global ATSEP community.

The conference programme will address key topics shaping the ATM digital transformation, including emerging technologies and automation, interoperability, SESAR developments, ATSEP training, competency and licensing, as well as essential human factors such as fatigue management and Just Culture. We will also examine important legislative and regulatory developments, including SES 2++ and relevant EASA initiatives impacting ATSEP.

Throughout the conference, we will engage in meaningful interactive discussions, exchange knowledge, and reaffirm our commitment to the highest standards of safety, cyber resilience, and uninterruptable ATM/ANS services. I warmly encourage you to participate actively, share your insights, and build lasting professional connections that will continue to strengthen our community.

We firmly believe that collaboration and the exchange of perspectives are key to enhancing aviation safety, security, and efficiency across Europe and beyond.
